OK - the sailing on Saturday was very good, but exceptionally long! I can't speak for the other boats, but we got off a total of 7 races! The RC even threw in (much to our chagrin) a few triangle courses for us - which was a little challenging for a couple of us!
I can't remember the exact positions (the RBYC site will probably be updated later this week) but there was definately one stand out performance - Patrick Cooper in Solna rattled off 4 (four) 1st place finishes in the first 4 races! Well done Solna!!
After Race 5, the fleet started to suffer from attrition. We started the day with an 8 boat fleet (welcome to Blitz!) but dwindled to 7 for race 6, and three for race 7. There were two boats damaged in a reported start line collision (Peppercorn & Privateer) but at present I haven't heard the extent of the damage. Privateer did start Race 7 but withdrew with some rigging damage.
I hope we have a couple of other fleets (the J24s were the only other fleet this past weekend) next week! Otherwise there may be as many races again! A VERY long day on the water!!
